Nnamdi Kanu's Wife Denies Divorce Rumours, Describes Reports as False
The wife of detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that she has filed for divorce from her husband.
In a public statement released on Saturday, she described the reports as completely false, urging members of the public to disregard the claims.
"My attention was drawn to false reports circulating online claiming that I have filed for divorce from my husband, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu," she said.
"For the avoidance of doubt, I have not filed for divorce. The publication is entirely false and should be treated as misinformation."
She expressed concern over what she described as the continuous spread of fabricated stories about her family, criticizing those responsible for publishing unverified information.
According to her, deliberately spreading falsehoods does not promote any cause but instead misleads the public and undermines responsible journalism.
She further appealed to the public to rely only on information released directly by her or through her authorised representatives, warning against sharing unverified reports.
The statement concluded with appreciation for those who contacted her to verify the rumours before circulating them.
"Thank you to everyone who reached out to verify the story before sharing it. Your commitment to truth and responsible communication is appreciated," she said.
The clarification comes amid widespread speculation online regarding the Kanu family, with the latest statement seeking to put an end to the divorce rumours.
